1) What is the Craft Mafia?
The Craft Mafia was started by a group of crafty business owners in Austin, TX. They networked and shared resources amongst themselves and in doing so helped their own ventures grow and spread crafty goodness throughout the Austin area. Other cities soon wished to join and have been popping up around the world ever since. We work locally to promote the indie craft scene and grow our businesses.

2) Where are you, anyway?
Our respective businesses are located in the St. Louis, MO metro area.

3) Do you accept new members?
Yes. Inquire if you’re interested – we periodically vote as a group on new members. Just check out the member requirements and see if this is something that appeals to you. Sometimes we ask people, sometimes they ask us. We accept both guys and girls of any age. We accept crafters as well as artists and artisans. If you’re into handmade, we’re into you.

4) Does it cost anything to be a member?
Not much – recently, the Craft Mafia Organization decided to charge existing craft mafias an annual group fee of $200 to trademark our names – how much each member pays depends on how many businesses we represent. We will split the cost once a year so our individual costs should remain low. This fee helps the Craft Mafia administrators pay for webhosting and advertising.
